When one of my friends requested a mersona commission of his wife, I was absolutely delighted to oblige. This design depicts a little bit more of a punk mermaid than my original chubby mermaid design- with her having shaved sides to her hair, spiney fins, and a shibari inspired seaweed top. Yet, her confidence is just as clear, with all the spunk one could hope to emulate.

In the mermaid community, there is more diversity than I have ever seen in one hobby or profession- and the most open and accepting people to go with it. As someone who has actively struggled with my own weight issues my whole life, the body inclusivity movement has been a personal favorite of mine. It brings me joy every day to see people deconstructing the false medical narratives that do nothing but add shame and misery to the very act of existing. Weight is not indicative of worth, and never should have been. If you'd like to get more chubby mermaid content, I enthusiastically recommend you check out the Society of Fat Mermaids, a figurehead of body positivity in the community.

Earring hooks may be changed for no extra charge. Leverback earrings are recommended for those with gauged ears. All earhooks are nickel free, but if you need more specific metals due to an allergy, please feel free to contact me directly.
