Plecostomus- one of the most popular aquarium fish, and you know what that means? It's absolutely misunderstood! Often marketed as a "cleaning fish," pleco do quite the opposite. Common pleco are meant to grow to be 15+ inches- meaning they're SIGNIFICANTLY too big for the average home tank. Not only that, but they also produce a LOT of waste and DON'T consume it. They enjoy algae, but it's not the kind of algae most people buy them to eat. All in all, they're a great example of the importance of researching a pet before you buy it.
This particular design is based on a sunshine pleco (L014), which hails from Brazil and maxes out at 12 inches.
